#Ajit Sarathi & #Ankit Verma are members of New Delhi based band AMALGA-MATES, which has an energetic, upfront, “no holds barred” style; and makes progressive tech , techno, and break beat melt into one.
Ajit Sarathi, born in Himachal and raised in the city of New Delhi, began his career at an early age as a dj under the influences of old school dance musicians and groups from the late 90’s. His strong candidature as an outstanding dj stems from a blend of his professional experiences and his training in Indian classical music. He is considered by many as the man who contributes his special touch to every party by a mixture of charisma and his particular choice of music. His vast experience as a DJ and his ability to create a journey from deep house to banging techno in his long sets make Ajit a sure-fire crowd mover at any given party.
In his early teens, it was all about Hip Hop to break beats to techno to house. Teenager Ajit grew up to become one of the dj’s slowly introducing music and tracks soon to be known as Progressive house, Tech and Techno. His stint as a resident dj from 2003-08 gave him the ideal platform to experiment with electronic sounds and create new musical styles. Inspired by the Global Underground sounds, he is serving a stunning mix somewhere between his very own progressive style and the modern minimal techno making his sets unique and himself a guarantor for a dancing crowd. Dedication, passion, and natural born skills have established Ajit as a sovereign tastemaker within the electronic music community. Together with a sound that is best described as a sophisticated blend of nasty jacking house and techno mutations, packed with twists and turns to assure complete floor annihilation, it is this refined musical vision that have made him one of the most sought after artists in his genre and a preferred pick for numerous dance promoters . He does not like to be put into one distinct category, rather he considers himself to be an underground dance music performer. In a career spanning nearly a decade Ajit”s distinctive sound has won an enviable following.
He is running his own radio show called Four Seasons oninnervisionsradio.co.uk every week and artists from all around the globe like Guy J, Stelios Vassiloudis, Omid 16b, King Unique, Lonya, Pete Lazonby, Oliver Klein, Liz Cirelli, Jay Tripwire, Andree Eskay, Justin Steel and more have been a part of this show. Since 2011, his music is immodestly broadcasted every 2-months on frisky radio along with his exclusive guest mixes for various radio stations through the UK-based record label called Convert Recordings.
In addition, Ajit has performed alongside International Dj’s like Eelke Kleijn (Netherlands) , Namito (GERMANY) , Murat Kilic (AUSTRALIA) , King Roc (uk), Alex Niggemann (Germany), Rainer Weichhold (Germany) , Markus Mehta (Germany), Lee Softley (BLUE AMAZON ,UK) , Jim Buyers (UK) , Dj Clare (UK) , Miss Yetti (Germany) , Rhythmikan (Hungary , Budapest) and many more. A man of many talents, Ajit is currently working as an Audio Programmer with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Ankit Verma has earned an enviable reputation for the quality of his DJing. Renowned for crafting seamless mixes of distinction, as a DJ, Ankit"s sets have gleaned notoriety for their smooth programming, flawless transitions and constant, resonant groove. Fueled by an eclectic blend of childhood musical heroes (including Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Nina Simone) and inspired via an epiphany induced by the iconic Old Skool dj"s and musicians of the mid-1990s; his trademark penchant for embracing diversity and concocting cohesive fusions of sound today, comes as little surprise. His antics and style of spinning along with his strength with the mice and ability to connect with people through his music has made him popular with the crowd in a very short span of time. He makes sure that our sound is not run-of-the-mill. It’s a great mix of floor burners you can relate to. Being socially active, he manages marketing and promotions for amalgamates.
